I had a pleasant stay at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium, though there were some quirks. The location is great, close to the main shopping area and good dining options. However, I was surprised to find out that the gym came with an extra charge. The breakfast options weren't quite to my taste either, and the room felt small at times.

My Standard Double Room was cozy but on the smaller side. I appreciated the usual amenities, but there wasn't much room for my luggage.

The hotel's location was excellent, with easy access to shopping and dining. However, the area was quite dead after 10 pm, which I found a bit unsettling.

While the breakfast included fresh sandwiches, I found the options quite focused on Asian cuisine, which wasn't what I expected in the morning.

The facilities were good with dry cleaning and housekeeping available. But, I really didn't like having to pay extra to use the gym; it felt unnecessary.

I enjoyed the space of my Premium Twin Room, though I was a bit disappointed with the housekeeping service. The location was convenient for accessing Kyoto's main shopping area, yet it felt quite dead after 10 PM.

I appreciated the large onsen bath for relaxation after a long day of walking, but the gym being extra and requiring a booking was a bit of a letdown.

I had a decent stay at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium. The room was spacious enough for my needs, and the location was perfect for exploring Kyoto (close to the shopping area!). However, I was disappointed with the lack of housekeeping during my three-night stay, as the rooms weren't made up daily like I'm used to in other places.

The Premium Twin Room was a good size for my family, providing ample space. However, we only received two pillows for the two beds, which was not enough. Unfortunately, the beds weren't made up during my stay.

I didn't have the chance to dine in but noticed they serve home-baked Alentejo bread, which sounds enticing!

I found it inconvenient that the gym required an extra fee to use and needed to be booked. Also, there were not enough luggage spaces in the room.

I stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium for two nights, and it had its ups and downs. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the main shopping area, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. However, I found the gym to be quite costly since it's an extra charge, and the room felt a bit cramped for two people.

Breakfast was a bit challenging for me since it leaned heavily towards Asian cuisine, which I'm not very used to. I missed having more Western-style options like eggs and toast.

The hotel offered several facilities, including laundry and tour assistance, which were handy. Still, I was disappointed that the gym required an extra fee and had to be booked in advance.

The room provided was typical of what you'd find in Japan - cozy and comfortable with amenities like a fridge, TV, and desk. I appreciated the kimonos and slippers for extra comfort, but a few details like size could be improved.

While I really wanted to use the gym, I was surprised to find out it was an extra fee. The large onsen bath was a wonderful way to unwind after a day of exploring, though the laundry facilities had limited capacity.
